May 12th is Florence Nightingale's Birthday. Florence Nightingale's life was long and adventuresome but her most lasting contribution was the founding the nursing occupation. Nightingale saw nursing as more than a job, she saw it as a calling and is credited with saying, “"For us who nurse, our nursing is a thing which, unless we are making progress every year, every month, every week, take my word for it, we are going back."

With this podcast we will take a look at Florence Nightingale's life, her experiences in the Crimean War, and the contributions she made to nursing.
